PREAMBLE:

This constitution is established by the member schools to facilitate interscholastic competition, promote a sound program of educational and extracurricular activities and encourage ethical behavior among participants and spectators.


Article I

The organization governed under this Constitution shall be known as the Kensington Valley Conference.

Article II

Section 1 Charter Membership – This conference was formed through membership of these schools: Brighton, Howell, Novi, South Lyon, Hartland, and Pinckney

Section 2 Current Membership – This conference currently consists of: Brighton, Howell, South Lyon, Hartland, Novi. Huron Valley (Milford & Lakeland) & Pinckney.

Section 3 New Members
a. Applications for membership in this Conference shall be made in writing to the Conference President
b. A two-thirds vote by the Board of Directors is needed for admission into the league

Section 4 Withdrawal – Withdrawal intent must be submitted to the Conference in writing at least one (1) year in advance of the intended termination date

Section 5 Removal - A school may be dropped from the conference by a three-fourth (3/4) vote of the Board of Directors

Section 6 Affiliation – All Conference schools shall hold membership in and comply with the regulations of the Michigan High School Athletic Association

Section 7 Membership Voting – After notification of withdrawal has been accepted, a school has no vote on future membership


Article III
Governmental Procedures

Section 1 Governing Body - The control of this Conference will be vested in the Board of Directors of the member schools.

1.1 The Board of Directors – Will consist of the Principals of the member schools

Section 2 Quorum – A quorum shall be one (1) over half of the Board of Directors

Section 3 Voting – Votes shall be one (1) per school

3.1 All official conference decisions shall, unless otherwise stated in this Constitution, be by majority vote of the Board of Directors present and voting
3.2 Delegation of votes shall be restricted to the principal of the member school or his/her designee
3.3 When a proposal from the Athletic Directors has been denied by the Board of Directors and has the support of three fourths (3/4) of the Athletic Directors, the proposal will be tabled until a joint session of Principals and Athletic Directors is held to resolve the issue

Section 4 Administration Officers – Shall be determined by rotation among membership schools

4.1 President - There shall be a President and President-elect. The President-elect shall serve as Secretary-Treasurer of the League
4.2 President-Elect – Will assume the office of President the next school year
4.3 President-Elect - Shall be acknowledged in May at the regular Board of Directors meeting. The office of President-Elect will be designated by alphabetical rotation of league schools. In the event a new principal (1st year) should become heir to the office of President, the rotation would automatically move ahead one year with the new principal serving as President-Elect. The new principal would then serve as President the following year, with the President-Elect coming from the school next in the original rotation.
4.4 Term – Shall serve a term of one school year in each office
4.5 Newly elected officers shall assume their office at the opening of the first meeting following their acknowledgement
4.6 A vacancy in an administrative office shall be filled for that portion of the term remaining, by alphabetical rotation as identified in 4.3.
4.7 Shall have those duties described in the Bylaws of this constitution

Article IV

Section 1 Board of Directors – The Board of Directors shall have the power to:

1.1 Adopt, modify or appeal any by-laws, subject only to the restrictions of this Constitution and Michigan law
1.2 Prepare and adopt budgets
1.3 Levy and collect dues
1.4 Designate a depository of conference funds
1.5 Approve payment of bills
1.6 Approve schedules of all conference activities one year in advance when possible
1.7 Establish a system of scoring for the determination of conference final standings, awards and trophies
1.8 Designate conference championships
1.9 Secure and present awards
1.10 Admit new conference members
1.11 Introduce new conference sports and activities
1.12 Designate authority to the KVC Athletic Association and other activity groups as approved by the Board of Directors
1.13 Require the presence of a quorum before any meeting be declared official
1.14 Establish general rules and regulations for the conduct of conference events
1.15 Establish rules and regulations as deemed necessary and proper to carry out the foregoing powers
1.16 Assign a designated person to work with Student Council Advisors to provide a list of exchange dates to be approved by the Principals

Article V

Meetings

Section 1 This Constitution may be amended by a three fourths (3/4) vote of the entire Board of Directors

1.1 Proposed amendments must be submitted to the President-Elect, and by him/her, to the Board of Directors at the next meeting. The amendment will be reviewed at that meeting and voted on at the next scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors
1.2 The Constitution of the Kensington Valley Conference is to be reviewed annually at the May meeting by the Board of Directors. This is to be done under the direction of a standing committee appointed in September

Article VI

Fees

Section 1 Each school of the Conference shall pay an annual fee, established at the June meeting, which shall be due and payable in the fall of the year. Additional fees may be voted by the Board of Directors

Article VII

Enabling Act

Section 1 This Constitution and By-Laws will be in effect upon the vote of three fourths (3/4) of the Board of Directors. This document will be known as the Kensington Valley Conference Constitution and By-Laws.

1. The Conference shall:

A. Grant an appropriate award to the designated champion in each varsity sport
B. An All-Sport award will be given to the school(s) accumulating the greatest number of points during the year in both girls/boys sports
C. Award matching trophies in cases of a tie
D. Medals and certificates will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in the Conference meets as follows;

1. Gold medal and all league certificates to first place winner
2. Silver medal to second place winner
3. Bronze medal to third place winner

E. Consider a sport Conference status when five (5) or more of the schools submit a written application attesting to the fact that they offer varsity competition in that activity
F. Recommended admission for all varsity sports will be determined by the local school system for ninth graders and older.
G. Issue passes to each school:
An appropriate number of KVC passes will be issued to each league school. The number will be determined at the June meeting
H. Accept passes from other conferences and recognized associations
I. Admit uniformed cheerleaders free of charge
J. Recommend the number of officials for conference schools according to the following numbers per varsity contest:

1. Baseball - 2
2. Football-V - 5 Football Fr/JV 4
3. Soccer - 3
4. Hockey - 3
5. Track - 1
6. Volleyball - 2
7. Wrestling - 2
8. Swimming - 1
9. Softball - 2
10. Basketball - 3
11. Lacrosse - 2
12. Competitive Cheer - 5

K. Staff members of the competing schools are not eligible to officiate varsity contests. They may officiate the other contests by mutual agreement
L. League meets shall be a league function and the league shall share in the profit and loss of any meets. An expense report must be filed with the league President by each school hosting a league tournament
M. Approve Conference meeting sites and/or hosts at the same time the schedule is approved
N. Due to acts of God (weather, etc.) conference championships will not be held unless all participating teams are present. All postponed games will be made up
O. Artificial noisemakers are not permitted at any indoor athletic event.

II. Final Conference standings shall be determined as follows:

A. Dual meet season standings and conference meet standings shall count equally in determining final standings in a sport.

1. Conference Standings – Dual Competition
a. Two (2) points for each victory
b. One (1) point for each tie
c. After standings are determined, each team will be awarded points for their standing. The points will be awarded in descending order, equal to the number of teams participating. i.e, eight teams (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) the same system will be applied after the conference meet standings are determined
2. Conference standings – Conference Meets
a. Places determined by the number of points scored
b. After standings are determined, each team will be awarded points for their standing. The points will be awarded in descending order, equal to the number of teams participating. i.e, eight teams (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1)

B. Championship is determined by adding the place points awarded in both the dual meet standings and the league meet standings

III. Establish all-league/all-conference teams in accordance with the by-laws for each recognized sport
IV. All JV players will be subject to the same rules of eligibility and discipline as the varsity players. Players who are academic seniors (in their 7th and 8th semesters of high school) shall NOT play on a Junior Varsity team

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL BY-LAWS
SCHOOLS THAT OFFER THE SPORT:

ALL EIGHT KVC SCHOOLS OFFER THE SPORT:

SCHEDULE:
1). Round robin two year cycle.
2). PLAY A ROUND OF SINGLE GAMES FOLLOWED BY A ROUND OF DOUBLE-HEADERS. WE WILL ONLY COUNT THE FIRST TWO (2) GAMES, ( IF THE FIRST GAME IS STARTED IT WILL BE CONTINUED AS THE FIRST OF THE TWO GAMES THAT DETERMINE THE LEAGUE STANDINGS)
3). The team scheduled to be the home team for all games, regardless of site, will be the host team.
4). The home team will take fifteen minutes of infield practice at least thirty minutes before scheduled game time.
5). Visitors infield practice will be the last fifteen minutes before game time.
6). All contracts are to be honored. Rained out or postponed games will be re-scheduled as follows:
A.) If the field conditions at the original site make it unplayable, the first option to re-schedule is, if the opponents field is playable, to use it and change second home/away contest between the two teams.
B.) In the first round, make-up games should be arranged with both schools to play the first mutually agreed available date.
C.) Second round make-up dates will use the available rain-out dates.

7). There will be two registered officials working each contest (unless extenuating circumstances prevail.
8). One game with less than seven full innings played due to light/weather conditions, the state rule will apply.
9). The state 10 run rule shall be used in all league contests.
10). Coaches are to be in uniform (allowances may be made on those occasions when this is not physically possible).
11). Varsity baseball and softball will be at the same site.
12). Junior varsity baseball/softball will be at the same site and double headers will consist of one seven inning game and one five inning game.
13). In double headers fifteen minutes will separate the finish of the first and the beginning of the second game. In double headers no 6th or 7th inning will start after 8:00 pm.
14). Freshmen and JV games will not necessarily be made up due to inclement weather.

BASKETBALL BY LAWS
ALL EIGHT SCHOOLS OFFER THE SPORT
SCHEDULE
Double round, NO league tournament. JV and Freshmen schedule corresponds. Two year cycle. Game days – Tuesday/Friday for boys and Tuesday/Thursday for girls. NOTE* two year cycle, 14 dates.
LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The championship will be determined by standings based on won/lost records in league play. Championship ties are allowed.
ALL LEAGUE TEAM
The KVC All League Team shall consist of eight (8) first team members and eight (8) second team members. No ties will be allowed. All players receiving one (1) vote will be eligible for honorable mention status.
ALL LEAGUE SELECTION PROCESS
Coaches provide nominations and information. Only players nominated by their coaches will be considered. Coaches will not vote for their own players. Open ballot will be used.
AWARDS
One (1) Team Champion (ties allowed) – Eight (8) medals and certificates for first team – Eight (8) medals and certificates to second team.
ALL LEAGUE (POST SEASON) MEETING
Meeting will be hosted by Championship team. Time and location to be communicated to coaches and athletic directors.
WARM-UP
The varsity will be granted twenty (20) minutes of uninterrupted warm-up time immediately before the game. If possible, HOME team to supply balls and water for warm-up for visiting team.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The visiting coaches should be informed of special programs before the day of the game.
PEP BANDS
Home pep bands permissible. Home pep bands will not perform during play time.

KVC Bowling By-Laws

K.V.C. Bowling By – Laws

1. There will be no K.V.C. Bowling on Sundays
2. Bowlers will wear collared shirts of the same color, no hats, and will wear clothing on the lower body that meets their school’s dress code, and is not made of a denim, spandex, or fleece like material
3. KVC All-Conference; will be Six 1st team bowlers and Six 2nd team bowlers per gender. Selection Criteria is the best 12 over-all averages in league play. To be eligible for consideration bowlers must bowl in a minimum of 70% of league games. Should there be a tie for the 12th best average additional medals will be given.
4. Bowling By-Law change process is as follows:
a. Coaches meeting where quorum is present will be the only forum used to initiate formal recommendations. All proposals must be in writing and be supported by a roll call vote of those in attendance. Schools may not represent a proxy vote of another school. They must have a coach or administrator present. The sport commissioner will present to the KVC Athletic Directors. Proposals will only be reviewed on odd school years, i.e. (2005, 2007, etc.)
b. The KVC Athletic Directors will discuss all proposals brought forward in this manner and act in one of the following three ways; Table the proposal for future consideration, approve the proposal and bring it to the KVC Board of Directors council for action, or deny the proposal.
c. The sport commissioner will be responsible for communicating the status of any pending proposals to the coaches in writing.

Specific Guidelines:

Dual Meets:
Schools will participate in dual meets using a ‘round robin’ format. MHSAA format and rules will be followed. Dual meet standings will be awarded points in reverse order of finish, based on the number of teams sponsoring the sport.
( Eight team placing: 1st = 8 pts, 2nd = 7 pts, etc.)

League Championship:
The championship will be determined by a KVC sponsored, varsity only, competition in February, two weeks prior to the Regional competition. The MHSAA format and rules will be followed. Note, upon the completion of each round, the coach will have 10 minutes to check the score sheet for accuracy. The coach’s signature indicates that the score has been verified by the school, and must be returned to the judge’s table to become official.

OVER ALL CHAMPIONSHIP:
Dual meet standings + KVC Championship meet standings = Championship
The dual meet standings and the League Meet standings count equally.
There is no “tie breaker” for teams finishing with the same point total.

Awards:

The championship team will receive a trophy plate. Squad members will be awarded “All League” medals based on their final standings.

Dual Meet Format

Warm up on the MAIN mat will begin 35 minutes prior to the competition. Five minutes/team in the same rotation as listed below. The National Anthem will be played at 6:55 PM.

FOOTBALL BY-LAWS

SCHOOLS THAT OFFER THE SPORT:
All eight KVC Schools offer the sport.

Schedule:

Freshmen and Junior Varsity

The freshmen and junior varsity play the same school as the varsity that week, but at the opposite site. The freshman game will begin at 4:30 pm. The junior varsity game will start 15 minutes following the end of the freshman game. Varsity play at 7:00 PM unless arrangements are pre-arranged. Single round of games rotating every two years.

ALL LEAGUE SELECTION:
A.) Meeting to be held on Monday after the eighth game, hosted by the league championship school.
B.) Each team will be given positions on the team based on their finish in the league.
C.) The All-League breakdown should be as follows:
1st place=11 players
2nd place=9 players
3rd place=8 players
4th place=7 players
5th place=5 players
6th place=4 players
7th place=3 players
8th place=3 players
50+2 kickers = 52 players

D.) If two or more teams tie then their number of all league players will be determined by the following prioritized tie breakers:
1. Head to Head competition
2. Win comparison VS other league teams starting with the 1st place team and in order to the last place team
3. Amount of times team was ahead at the end of the 3rd quarter
4. Amount of times team was ahead at the end of the 2nd quarter
5. Amount of times team was ahead at the end of the 1st quarter
6. Coin flip
E.) There will be no more than one medal difference between teams that tie
F.) The All League team will be released on Monday after the ninth football game by the league football commissioner.
LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP:
School with the best league record will be the champion. Ties will be allowed.

FILM EXCHANGE:
Coach will have the right to the previous game on tape.

STANDARD ROSTERS:
Standard rosters must include name, jersey number and year in school. Schools may go beyond this but name, number and year are mandatory.

FIELD PRE-POST GAME:
No visiting spectators are permitted on the field before, during or after the game.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
A.) Equal warm-up facility space will be provided for each team.
B.) “THE FIELD WILL BE AVAILABLE @ 5:30PM. PRE-GAME WARM-UP WILL BE CONCLUDED BY 6:45PM. BAND PRE-GAME PERFORMANCE WILL BEGIN @ 6:45PM AND CONCLUDE @ 6:58PM WITH THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.
C.) All ties in varsity football will be resolved by using the tie-breaking process recommended by the MHSAA.
D.) One film man and two coaches will be provided space on-in press box whenever possible.
E.) If prior arrangements are made, varsity football teams may dress at opponents sites. Junior Varsity and Freshmen football teams will dress at their home facilities.
F.) Half-time will be fifteen + three minutes as set on the scoreboard clock. Half-time can be extended five minutes for homecoming by the home school and five minutes at other games by mutual consent of the athletic directors.
G.) Visiting team marching bands will perform only at the invitation of the host school.
H.) Pep bands (twenty-five (25) persons including the sponsor) with supervision may play at away football games, if arrangements are made with host school prior to the game.
I.) Freshmen games are limited to twelve minute quarters.
J.) The MHSAA mercy rule will be followed for league dates.

GOLF BY-LAWS

THE STARTING TIME FOR MEETS WILL BE 3:15 P.M., OR WHAT IS DETERMINED BY THE GOLF COURSE.
FORMAT OF MEETS

Four out of six. There will be two points awarded to the winner of a match. If a tie results, the fifth person will determine the winner of the match. If the match continues to be tied, then the sixth person determines the outcome. If there still is no clear winner, the points will be split (one to each team) – applies to matches and conference meet.
ALL LEAGUE SELECTIONS
Low sixteen (16) scorers in each conference meet will be nominated for all-league. The coaches will vote upon conclusion of the final meet (cannot vote for their own player) for top six choices. The top eight (8) Vote-getters will receive first team all-league recognition. 9-16 second team. NO TIES.
JUNIOR VARSITY TEAM
Will be held in concurrence with the varsity meets. Six (6) players will be designated varsity and six (6) players will be designated Junior Varsity. Scoring will be determined in the same method as the varsity.
LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Each league meet equals 1/3 and duals count 1/3.
DUAL COMPETITION
Two (2) points for each victory – one (1) point for each tie.

CONFERENCE MEETS

Two (2) points are awarded for any team you finish ahead of in the conference meet

Schools that offer the sport:

SCHEDULE AND STARTING TIMES:

DOUBLE ROUND WITH ALL GAMES COUNTING TOWARD THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AMD ICE ARENA MANAGEMENT WILL DETERMINE THE STARTING TIMES – ANNUALLY TWO YEAR CYCLES.

ALL LEAGUE SELECTION AND AWARDS:

ALL CONFERENCE RECOGNITION WILL BE EXTENDED TO 6 FORWARDS (3-1ST TEAM/3-2ND TEAM) 4 DEFENSEMEN (2-1ST TEAM/2-2ND TEAM) AND 2 GOALIES (1-ST TEAM/1-2ND TEAM) SELECTED BY THE COACHES. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN AS DETERMINED BY THE GENERAL RULES. NO MORE THAN 14 MEDALS WILL BE ISSUED FOR ALL LEAGUE.

RULES:

THE NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION ICE HOCKEY GUIDE AND THE MICHIGAN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION GUIDELINES WILL BE FOLLOWED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS:

A. MALICIOUS USE OF STICK – MINIMUM OF THREE (3) GAME SUSPENSIONS ON THE 1ST OFFENSE. A 2ND OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN A SUSPENSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON
B. LANGUAGE AND GESTURES – ANY DEROGATORY, UNSPORTSMANSHIP, OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE OR GESTURE, CURSING OR PROFANITY DIRECTED AT COACHES, PLAYERS, OFFICIALS OR SPECTATORS, WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC GAME MISCONDUCT. A SECOND VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A GAME DISQUALIFICATION AND SUSPENSION
C. GAME DISQUALIFICATION/MISCONDUCT/EJECTION. ALL ARE TO BE SERVED FOR THE BALANCE OF THE GAME BEHIND THE PLAYERS BENCH UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE COACH.
D. THE PENALTY FOR A GAME DISQUALIFICATION SHALL INCLUDE:

K.V.C Boys/Girls LACROSSE BY-LAWS

1. All Uniforms will be in accordance with the MHSAA uniform rules.
2. We have six boys teams
3. We will have a double round, no league tournament
4. Two officials are recommended
5. All games will follow MHSAA guidelines
6. By-law changes can be initiated at the coaches meeting where a quorum is present. All proposals must be in writing and be a roll call vote of those in attendance. No proxy votes will be accepted. The sport commissioner will be responsible for communicating the status of any pending proposals to the coaches.
7. League championship will be determined by standing based on won/lost records in league play. One point for a win and no points for a loss. Championship ties are allowed.
8. All league team will convene within two weeks after the end of league play and a date proposed by the school that wins the overall championship. Time and location should be communicated to coaches and athletic directors by the host school.

SOCCER BY-LAWS:

Schools That Offer Sport: All eight

Schedule:
Double round robin, no league tournament. Two year cycle. Game days are Tuesday and Thursday for Boys soccer in the fall. Girls soccer game days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the spring. Note: All regular season games are to be completed prior to the MHSAA tournament. The MHSAA tournament games take precedent over league games. Starting times are to be determined by the host school. All attempts must be made to make-up a league game postponed due to bad/inclement weather or other conflicts.

Officials:
Although three officials are recommended, two are acceptable and the game can be played as long as at least one registered official is present. Registration must be through the MHSAA. Two officials are recommended for junior varsity games.

Overtime:
According to MHSAA guidelines, overtime periods will not be used for regular season/league games.

League Championship:
The championship will be determined by standings based on won/lost records in league play. Two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero for a loss. Championship ties are allowed.

All-League Team:
A meeting will convene within two weeks after the end of league play and a date proposed by the school that wins the overall championship. Time and location to be communicated to coaches and athletic directors by the host school.

SOFTBALL BY-LAWS
SCHOOLS THAT OFFER THE SPORT:

ALL EIGHT KVC SCHOOLS OFFER THE SPORT:

Scheduling and other information:

1.) Round robin two year cycle
2.) Double round of seven single and seven doubleheaders (21 league games), (hone-home) with all games counting toward the league championship.
3). Home team will take fifteen minutes of the infield practice at least thirty minutes before scheduled game time.
4). There will be two registered officials working each contest, unless extenuating circumstances.
5). League game balls will be selected from the approved MHSAA tournament game ball list.
6). On games with less than seven full innings played due to light/weather conditions, the state rule will apply.
7). State 10 run mercy rule shall be used in all league contests.
8). Softball coaches are to be in uniform/school colors as allowed by the rule book.
9). Varsity baseball and varsity softball will be at the same site.
10).Junior varsity baseball and junior varsity softball will be at the same site and doubleheaders will consist of one seven inning game and one five inning game.
11).In doubleheaders, fifteen minutes will separate the finish of the first and the beginning of the second game.
12).Starting time will be 4:00 PM.
13).Freshmen baseball and softball doubleheader will consist of one five inning game followed by one five inning game.
14.) All contracts are to be honored. Rained out or postponed games will be rescheduled as follows:
a. If the field conditions at the original site make it unplayable, the first option to re-schedule is; if the opponents field is playable, to use it and change second home/away contest between the two teams.
b. In the first round, make-up games should be arranged with both schools to play the first mutually agreed available date.
c. Second round make-up will use the available rain out dates.

ALL LEAGUE-ALL CONFERENCE SELECTION:

1). Softball all league will consist of eleven players first team and eleven players for the second team based on a secret ballot. Coaches may nominate their own players, however, they cannot vote for their own players. The coach should prioritize his/her all KVC 1-24 with the best player receiving 24 points and the 24th best player receiving 1 point. If a tie exists it must be broken, top twelve votes are first team next 12 are 2nd team no positions.
2). The all league meeting will be hosted by the league championship school after all league games are completed.
3.) Varsity coaches attendance at KVC meeting is mandatory for nomination of players unless an emergency is present.

TENNIS BY LAWS

Schools that offer the sport: All eight (8) schools offer the sport

SCHEDULE:
Single round dual matches and a league meet.
Matches shall consist of 4 single rounds and 5 doubles competition.

Dual Sites: The JV will play at the opposite site of the varsity whenever possible.
Rules and Regulations: The rules and regulations as set up by the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) will be followed at all times.

League Meet: A single elimination tournament will be held on Saturday (with Tuesday being the rain date) prior to the MHSAA regional meet the entries in each flight for the league meet must have played at least 50% of their league matches at that flight (unless there are verified extenuating circumstances).

League Championship:
The league championship will be determined by a combination of the regular season standings (50%) and the league meet (50%). Regular season standings will be determined by two points for each dual win and one point for each dual tie.

All League Selection: The first team will be comprised of the winners on each flight (5 doubles) at the league meet. The second team will be comprised of the runner-ups in each flight.

TRACK BY-LAWS

SCHOOLS THAT OFFER THE SPORT - ALL EIGHT (8) KVC SCHOOL OFFER THE SPORT

SCHEDULE
Single round - League Meet – Two year cycle dual meets generally on Tuesdays. Both boys and girls will run at the same site on the same day – 4:00 PM unless mutual agreement.

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Determined by dual meets and league meets results (50%) each. Ties are allowed.
A. Dual meet season standings and conference meet standings shall count equally in determining final standings in a sport.
1. Conference Standings – Dual Competition
a. Two (2) points for each victory
b. One (1) point for each tie
c. After standings are determined, each team will be awarded points for their standing. The points will be awarded in descending order, equal to the number of teams participating. i.e. eight (8) teams (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) . The same system will be applied after the conference meet standings are determined.
2. Conference Standings – Conference Meet
a. Places determined by the number of points scored
b. After standings are determined, each team will be awarded points for their standing. The points will be awarded in descending order, equal to the number of teams participating. i.e. eight (8) teams (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1).
B. Championship is determined by adding the place points awarded in both the daul meet standings and the league meet standings.

KVC RECORDS
KVC records can be set only in the KVC conference meet. NOTE* - KVC records will be maintained in both Metric and English measurements.
DUAL MEET REGULATIONS
Michigan High School Athletic Association and the National Federation of High School Athletic Association Track rule book regulations will be followed except as amended below:
1. Fast heats will run first within the prescribed order of events
2. Exhibition heats may be run during the normal order of events. Other arrangements may be made by mutual consent of the coaches
3. Scored races run in lanes will not be limited in the number of heats, runners in the second heat can score no higher than third place with a minimum of six runners per school designated as point scorers
4. Field events shall have unlimited entries with a maximum of six performers designated as point scorers. The designated scorers will perform first an continue until competition is complete. Non-scoring entrants will then perform.
5. Relay entrants are limited to one designated point scoring team per school. Additional teams may run by mutual consent of the coaches.
6. The field event schedule at MHSAA Regionals and Final meets will alternate the order of Field event trials will be conducted according to the state order of events as follows: competition for boys and girls each year.

CONFERENCE MEET REGULATIONS

1. Four entries per school, per event, except relays where one team per school may be entered. There shall be no alternates, entry times, distances, and heights submitted on entry cards may be from any sanctioned meet held during the current season.
2. The seeding meeting will be held the Sunday prior to the KVC meet. Coaches are encouraged to attend the meeting. Entries are also due by the beginning of this meeting (if by mail, then the preceeding Friday).
• All races requiring lane determination (i.e. 100, 200, etc) will be seeded at the final scratch meeting prior to the preliminaries
• Starting heights and progressions will be determined at the seeding meeting
• Entry card must have provision to record both metric and English times and measurements
• Lapped runners in the mile and two mile runs shall be allowed to finish
• Time schedule:

• 3:00 PM - Field Events
• 4:00 PM - Preliminary Events
• 5:00 PM - 2 Mile Relay
• 5:45 PM - Senior Introductions

WRESTLING BY LAWS

SCHOOLS THAT OFFER SPORT - ALL EIGHT (8) KVC SCHOOLS OFFER THE SPORT:

SCHEDULE

There will be one (1) dual meet followed by three (3) quad during the season. There will be two sites for hosting competition on each quad date. The league meet will take place at the end of the season. This requires yearly scheduling.

LEAGUE COMPETITION

The Championship will be determined by dual meet and league meet results (50% each). Ties are allowed.

AWARDS: The winner of each weight class is awarded a gold medal. The runner-up will receive a silver medal. The third place winners will receive a bronze medal.

WEIGH-IN: Home shoulder-to-shoulder weigh-ins on the day of the contest will start at 4:00 p.m. and matches will begin at 5:30 pm.

CONDUCT OF TOURNAMENT: Seeding and scoring will follow MHSAA rules. The seed meeting will be on Friday night prior to the Saturday Championship.
